Twin Cities Detective Caught Lying on Search Warrant

By October 15, 2018 No Comments

“An Eden Prairie police detective’s lie about a search warrant in a single drug case will result in 32 cases being dismissed and will let at least one convicted person out of prison,” reports MPR News. An attorney for Hennepin County, where Eden Prairie is located, said the detective would be avoided as a witness in future cases due to his lack of trustworthiness. He also stated, “The fair trial of a defendant depends upon the truthful testimony of the witnesses. That did not happen here.” The detective has been disciplined by his department, and another county attorney’s office will “review [his] conduct for possible criminal charges.”
